Late night 2am emergency munchies mode engaged. (Pizza Bites)

Picture this…its 2am, you’ve just gotten home.  You’ve been drinking with your friends all night and  you need something to munch on before you crash for the night.  You’re not so wasted that you don’t realize you’d regret it if you went to the 24 hour McDonalds and scarfed down 2000 calories so you need a solution.

You want pizza but god damn that is way too much food.

Enter the wonton pizza bite.  You’re looking at roughly 200  calories for 4 (give or take 20 calories based on how much cheese you use) of these things so not only are they surprisingly satisfying, they wont make you wake up and cry about how you pigged out last night.

  • Wonton Wrappers
  • Pepperoni
  • Mozarrella
  • Paremsan
  • Spray Oil
  • Ranch or Marinara or whatever

First things first, spray alittle oil on a pan, preheat your oven to 350, and lay out some wonton wrappers.

Watch them, and wait a couple minutes until they start to brown and get crispy.

Once they crisp up a little, put some shredded mozzarella and parmesan on each of them, close the oven for 30 seconds or so and let it melt.

Pull them out of the oven, put a pepperoni on each slice.  Pull out your handy dandy blowtorch (everyone here has a blowtorch right?) and blast the pepperoni until it curls up alittle and crisps.

Ok, so I know it sounds like some stupid over-the-top unnecessary technique.  In all reality though I’ve tried to make these several ways, when you put the pepperoni on top and just let it cook sometimes the grease from the meat will liquify and start to leak into the wonton and make it not as good.  Don’t get me wrong you can just oven-bake it the entire way if you want but if you’re looking for that epic crunch then just hit it with the torch for a second.

Once you start buying wonton wrappers and gyoza wrappers you will have them in your fridge for the rest of your life, they are just too damn convenient and make too many awesome things.
